Suddenly passed away at his home in Barrie, on Monday, March 31, 2014, in his 85th year. Thomas, beloved husband of Marlene (nee Cowan), the late Lillian (nee Glennie) and the late Joanne (nee Spence). Loving and devoted father of Cathi (Paul) and the late James (surviving spouse Bernadette). Cherished grandfather of Aimee (Derek), Andi (Mathew), Ashley (Ray), Robert (Rachel), Melissa (Sean), Meaghan (Kevin) and proudest great grandfather of Piper, Abby, Amelia, Jens “Tommy”, Quinton and a great grandson on the way. Special “Dad” to Julie. Dear brother-in-law of Sharon (Bob), Reg (Anne), Ron (Helen) and Rick. Predeceased by his best friends Mary and Chuck Adams. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, good friends, extended family and his four legged companions; Nicki and Red. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd., Barrie, on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 2-4 pm and on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 12 noon until a celebration of his life at 1 pm, followed by cremation.
