Passed peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Saturday May 14, 2016 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Paul D. Thompson. Beloved mother of Judy Collins (Glen) of Milton, Chris Thompson (Jo) of Calgary, and Susan Duncan of Barrie. Cherished “Nanny” to Melanie, Andrew, Brooke, Chase, Meredith and lee, and “Great Nanny” to Emily, Harrison, Jersey, Duke and Kayli. Violet lived a full life and will be sadly missed by those closest to her. Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Rd., Barrie on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 2 PM until the time we celebrate Violet’s life in the chapel at 3 PM. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations in Violet’s memory may be made to Hospice Simcoe and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
