Passed peacefully with his children at his side, at the Royal Victoria Hospital on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the age of 87. Loving husband of the late Ruth Lucas for 53 years. Honoured father of Cathy McClure (Cameron), David Lucas, and the late Lynn Flack (George). Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Postma (Greg), Ian McClure, Bryan McClure, Katrina Flack, and great grandfather of Judah Postma. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and life-long friends. Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Rd., Barrie on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, with memorial services being held on Wednesday, August 24 at 1 pm at Churchill United Church, 6306 Yonge St., Innisfil, followed by interment at 6th Line Cemetery. George’s family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to the nurses and doctors in Surgery 2 and the Intensive Care Unit at RVH in Barrie for their extraordinary care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be made to the RVH Foundation or to Churchill United Church.
