W.J. (Jim) Bailey born November 24th 1927. Passed away in his 84th year on October 14, 2011 at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario. Remembered by his wife Mary (nee Gledhill), daughter Marion Richardson (Brian), grandchildren Marc and Leah; son Joseph Bailey (Lori), grandchildren Marla and Mitchell; son Matthew Bailey (Cyndie), grandchildren Caitlin and Jonathan; and by his sister Alma (Bryce) Linklater. He was predeceased by his daughters Margaret and Janet, brother Dr. John Bailey and by his sister Beth Bartlett. Jim was born in Jarvis Ontario in 1927, graduated from the University of Toronto in 1952, and settled in Barrie where he worked as a physician for 39 years. He married Mary Gledhill on October 11, 1952. Together they raised 3 daughters and two sons. Jim had unwavering passions for music, gardening, duplicate bridge, lively debates, and forestry at the bush in Oro. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A Memorial Service will be held at Collier Street United Church, 112 Collier St., on Monday October 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Our deepest gratitude to the Nursing Staff of 4 North C for their loving and compassionate care.
